We're so excited to have you join us in crafting our new Faux Pumpkin project! If you don't have your DIY in a BOX kit yet, click HERE to order yours today. Also, if you have any questions at all while painting your pieces, click HERE to contact us!
We started by using the large brush to paint the pumpkins blue. If you get the paint on the stem don't worry, you should be able to get it right off with your finger or a napkin. Allow pumpkin to dry while you paint the next one.
Use a paper plate to mix paint colors. We made a nice peach color by mixing some of the orange with white. You could also make a shade of blue as well by adding white and navy together.
You can paint one design all over the entire pumpkin if you desire or paint each section of the pumpkin differently as we did. Think about making stripes, dots, herringbone print, lines, squiggles, and even solid colored sections.
If you get half way around you pumpkin and you feel like you have run out of ideas, make some of the same designs but in the opposite colors. This will give you a cohesive design. NOTE: The dark orange needed several coats when painted over the blue.
To finish the pumpkin, we added accent colors in-between stripes and used the dark blue to make more patterns and touch ups. We hope you enjoyed painting this adorable pumpkin project. Make sure to take pictures and tag us online! More details below.
