We're so excited to you join us in crafting our vineyard inspired lantern projects! If you don't have your DIY in a BOX yet, click HERE to order yours today! Also, if you have any questions at all while painting your lanterns, click HERE to contact us.
To begin painting, we will first dip our brush into both the dark and light purple. Using the brush with both colors on it will will paint a half moon shape. You might see both or just one color come off of the brush. This is ok.
Paint the other half of the circle and then fill in the middle with a few more brush strokes. By this point you should see both colors in the grape you just painted.
Paint a group of grapes with the widest row being four grapes wide, reference the image bellow for arranging your grapes. When you paint other groupings of grapes you don't have to keep this shape, perhaps make one group a little curved so they don't look all that same. ** Note that the some of the grapes in the image below look very light in color. If you don't like how light they come out, let the first coat of paint dry and you can go over the top with some more darker paint. We feel a good variation in color looks very realistic.
We will now paint some vines using both shades of green just as we did for the grapes. Dip brush into the shades of green and paint a stem coming out of the top and add vines on both or just one side of your grapes.
**Note for below- even though I only did grapes on the front, the wine bottle is an awesome project to add them all over, or in a circle going around the bottle as below with the solar lantern)
With the hanging solar lantern I added additional vines to connect the grapes around the jar.
Now you can paint leaves at the top of the grapes. Paint three almond shapes connected at the base.
Fill in leaves with both shades of green on the brush. Make one line up the center of the almond shape, then make brush strokes going from the center, out to the edges of the leaves. Look below for a visual.
Special Note: Both our solar & wine bottle lanterns should be kept indoors when not in use.
